How To Keep Jewelry Inventory Clean and Protected
Know how to use the best tools and methods to keep your stock clean and looking its best for the ultimate sales results. Keep jewelry separated, organized and protected to make it easier to access, easier to set up displays and more readily available for sale.
1 Clean your jewelry using methods suited to the metal. Sunshine® Cloths are a great choice for a variety of metals. There is even a special cloth suited to stainless steel.
2 Use inserts to keep your jewelry organized. The inserts fit into any standard-size display tray. Try easy-to-clean plastic trays to keep your jewelry cleaner and to avoid scratches.
3 Once your pieces are clean, avoid repeat cleaning by placing them in Soft Sleeves™ to protect them from dust, scratches and fingerprints.
4 Every metal except pure gold and platinum will eventually tarnish. Slow the buildup of this annoying residue with 3M anti-tarnish strips and tabs. Place the strips in trays or in cases beside your jewelry to absorb the moisture and sulfurs that cause tarnish.
Another great use is for when you darken your charms you have hand stamped:
1. take a black sharpie marker, write on the surface of the part that you stamped on, making sure to fill in the letters with the sharpie
2. Very quickly wipe the sharpie off with your finger or the clothe to remove the wet sharpie off the surface (if you do not do this quickly, the sharpie dries and is harder to take off with the clothe, if you end up waiting you can always use an alchohol swab to remove the sharpie quicker)
3. Use the sunshine clothe to further rub down on the surface to accentuate the dark versus light
